In an important step in elevating our sustainable business practices, Hemlock Harling received Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) Certification on February 12th, 2020. This designation now allows our customers to use FSC logos on all items printed on the company’s five sheetfed digital presses and two envelope presses, conveying a commitment to helping protect the people, plant and animal species that live in and around, and depend upon, the forest.
FSC certification is considered the gold standard designation for forest management, ensuring the wood source is responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious and economically viable. FSC Canada’s regional forest management standards were recently updated to address the most pressing issues now facing Canadian forests, including Indigenous Peoples Rights, Gender Equity, Landscape Management and Conservation.
